Our office has important information to convey to you. As you know our attorneys have successfully represented you in the United States District Court for your WTC injury, obtaining over $800 million in settlements for work place injuries. Now we believe we will have an additional avenue to get you even greater compensation.
On Friday, President Barack Obama vetoed a bill that would allow 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia. Today the U.S. Senate and the House overrode that veto, making it law. This will allow you to sue those involved in the 9/11 Terrorist attacks including Saudi Arabia, Iran and Afghanistan and the Terrorist Organizations. This could be an avenue of additional compensation for you in addition to the World Trade Center Litigation Defendants and to the 9/11 Zadroga Victim Compensation Fund. If you had a claim in the World Trade Center Litigation or the 9/11 Zadroga Victim Compensation Fund you can still pursue a claim against the Terrorists and their State sponsors.
Our “Of Counsel,” Paul Napoli was appointed by the United States District Court as a Liaison Counsel representing more than 11,000 first responders and other rescue and recovery workers, and you, who were injured during the rescue, recovery and debris-removal activities at the World Trade Center in the months following 9/11. Paul was instrumental in obtaining settlements that are today valued at more than $816 million for his clients. Paul also lobbied New York State and the U.S. Congress for two important pieces of legislation to assist injured workers and residents. These include an amendment to New York’s General Municipal Law §50-I (“JIMMY NOLAN’S LAW”) that provided a one-year savings statute for otherwise time-barred first responder claims and the JAMES ZADROGA 9/11 HEALTH AND COMPENSATION ACT OF 2010 (“Zadroga Bill”), which provides for medical monitoring and cash awards for injured first responders, local office workers and community members injured by the post-9/11 fallout. Our office also helped pass the Re-opened Victim’s Compensation Fund and process many of its claims.
Paul was also profiled in the published book “City of Dust,” a journalistic account of the rescue, recovery and debris-removal activities at the site of the World Trade Center following the September 11, 2001 attacks, authored by former New York Times columnist Anthony DePalma.
In addition to Paul, our office has the people who have been working on your case and these cases since this suit began more than 15 years ago. Those same people still proudly represent you today. Since Paul has been your counsel for your 9/11 case, there is nothing you need to do at this time. We will be preparing a lawsuit and filing it on your behalf in time. However, if you are NOT interested in pursuing a new claim pursuant to this new law against the State sponsors and/or Terrorists, please let us know by sending a letter to our office below or an email to email@example.com. Thank you
